Meet 19-year-old Gabriel a Ghanaian Who Built a Video Search Engine Called Mudclo

Gabriel Opare is an ambitious 19-year-old Ghanian student who built a video search engine called Mudclo which allows you to discover, search and stream video content from multiple sources in one place. This means when you search for a video on Mudclo, you can get results from YouTube and other websites as well. The young boy took a bold step to compete with the likes of YouTube and Google.

According to Gabriel:

Mudclo will challenge the dominance of YouTube. I believe that my business is good enough and that it can scale globally. It is a legitimate point to say that YouTube is a video hosting website, but they are two different entities.

While YouTube is a video hosting website, mine combines the power of YouTube and two other video hosting websites in order to create Mudclo.

Now here is the interesting part that made me admire the teenager even more, Gabriel is not studying computer science or computer engineering in school, rather, he is a 300-level Sociology student of the University of Ghana who taught himself to code by taking online courses during his free time. Though Mudclo is down as at the time of this publication.

This is a lesson and encouragement to youth who thinks they can't pursue there dream career because they didn't study the cause in school. Most people that are successful today, only developed themselves by outsourcing relevant information and guidelines on their own.

The internet has made it even more easier today as you can now learn anything via the internet as long as you have passion for that particular thing. Take a bold step today and you will enjoy it later.
