NCC Has Stopped The Glo Free Data Day Promo Which was To Take Place Today 11 August, 2017
Recently, i told you about Glo Free Data Promo which was organized by the Grand Master of Data Glo to repay their customers both new and old subscribers. News reaching me this morning from reliable source says the Glo Free Data Day would not be happening because Nigeria Communication Commission (NCC) decided to stop it. This Glo Free Data Day was to take place today 11 August, 2017 starting from this morning.
Glo had announced that eligible subscribers will enjoy as much as 200 megabytes of data for free, in what it called the “free data day”. But NCC said that the promotion was not in line with what was approved by the regulator.

According to NCC:
Am beginning to ask what is this guys problem. Nigeria Communication Commission (NCC) whats your problem are you serving the general public, the customers (Nigerians) or fighting for other network operators in Nigeria.
It has however come to our notice that Globacom Nigeria Ltd has been implementing the above regulatory approval in breach especially given your recent media campaign on the ‘Glo free data offer’, a clear departure from terms and condition of the approval given for the Glo overload promotion.
Consequent upon the above, you are hereby directed to suspend implementation of the Glo overload promotion from your network with immediate effect, the letter read.
