Mi Notebook Pro | Xiaomi Unveils a New Laptop With 16GB Ram to Take on Apple MacBook Pro

Xiaomi the apple of china is not relenting in advancing their tech industry forward. Xiaomi just unveiled the brand new Xiaomi Mi Notebook Pro laptop at the Mi Mix launch event today. Mi Notebook Pro is Xiaomi’s answer to the 2017 Apple MacBook Pro because it is lighter, and thinner in design. Mi Notebook Pro comes with a fingerprint sensor for biometric authentication.


The Mi Notebook Pro has a 15.6-inch display with Corning’s Gorilla Glass 3 on top for protection, a fingerprint sensor integrated within the touchpad for faster and more secure Windows Hello log-ins, as well as a magnesium alloy frame for maximum durability.


Inside the Mi Notebook Pro beats Intel’s brand-spanking new 8th generation Intel Core i7 processor clocked at 4GHz, discrete NVIDIA MX150 GPU and up to 16GB of RAM and 256GB of PCIe storage.
For audio, the Mi Notebook Pro features Harman Infinity speakers, along with Dolby ATMOS support. The Mi Notebook Pro also comes with a backlit keypad, which is covered with 0.3mm concave keycaps.


Its connectivity options include Wi-Fi, 3-in-1 SD card slot, Bluetooth, and USB Type-C port. The Mi Notebook Pro’s battery promises 60Wh of power, along with support for 1C quick charge. Xiaomi claims that within 35 minutes of charge, the battery power reaches 50 percent.


The Mi Notebook Pro will come in several varieties: 

an entry-level Core i5 variant with 8GB of RAM for $860 (N309,600), Core i7 variant with 8GB of RAM for $984 (N354,240) and the top of the line model that has 16GB of RAM that retails for $1076 (N387,360).
