The well-known popular music video service Vevo, a joint venture between music giants Universal, Sony and Warner, was targeted by the hackers who leaked more than 3 terabytes of internal files.

The files published online were not very secret: they were mainly documents, videos, and promotional materials.

Vevo has confirmed the attack and said the source was a phishing scam through LinkedIn. A company representative said that the extent of the leak is still being investigated.

Vevo is one of the most popular music sites on the internet. Its more than 250,000 cataloged songs attract 21 million hits per month worldwide on its YouTube channel and on its own website and application as well.
