How to Temporarily Suspend Your DStv Active Subscription

DStv multichoice Nigeria announced this on the 21st of September 2016. To be able to suspend your DSTV active subscription, you will need to give at least a 48-hour prior notice that you want to suspend your account for a fixed period of seven to 14 days at a time and for a maximum of twice yearly.
This has also been incorporated into FAQ with the question tag “Can I suspend my account temporarily”

This comes with some conditions and these are:
  • You will need a scanned copy of your ID card
  • The duration of suspension is between 7 to 14 days at any given period
  • Also, you must have a maximum of 7 days credit in your account. What this implies I that you can suspend from day 1 till day 23. You cannot suspend an account that has 6 days to the due date.
  • Unfortunately, you can only perform this operation twice yearly.
  • Where to send the suspension request: To request for a “temporal service suspension of your DStv active account” you can either call their “Call center on the toll-free lines 09090630333 for 9Mobile, 07080630333 for Airtel, 08113630333 for Glo and 08149860333 for MTN between the operating hours of 8am to 9pm on Saturdays, Sunday and public holidays.
  • Alternatively, you can send a request “” or visit any of their branches.

Life without competition is life without progress. Thanks to TStv Africa. We are anxiously waiting for sales of TStv Decoder which will officially take off from November 1st, 2017. Hopefully, we won’t be disappointed just as the TSTV CEO promised us of free 5000 decoders to Nigerians for testing.
