32 Million Old Android Phones won’t be able to use Google Chrome

Are you still on Android 4.1 Jellybean operating system? Unfortunately, soonest you won’t be able to use Google Chrome on your Android device.

XDA developers did some digging through the most recent version of Chrome app, and found some commit. The commit leads us to believe that sooner or later, chrome will no longer Support Android devices running Android 4.1, 4.2, and 4.3.

Based on Android’s distribution numbers, there are about 32 million Android devices still on Jellybean. Meaning 3.2% of Android devices are still on a version of Jellybean out of over 1 billion Android devices.

At the moment, Google Chrome can be installed from Google playstore on Android 4.1 and above; this is why it is always advisable for OEM’s to always release updates required for an upgrade on their devices.

There’s no timeline yet known for when Google is going to pull the plug on Jellybean and Chrome, but it might be sooner than you think.
