New Prices Of JAMB UTME AND NECO Forms As Reduced By FG

Federal Government (FG) of Nigeria Reduces the cost of JAMB, NECO Forms. In a directive by the President of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari to the Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu to reduced the cost of JAMB UTME, NECO SSCE and the Basic Education Certificate Examination forms.


It would be recalled that the cost of JAMB UTME form is N5,000, NECO is N11,350 and Basic Education Certificate is N5,500.

Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu, made the disclosure after the Federal Executive Council meeting on Wednesday to journalists in Abuja.

The new cost of JAMB UTME Form is N3,500, NECO is N9,850 and fees for the Basic Education Certificate handled by NECO, has been reduced from N5,500 to N4,000.

The Head of Digital Communications for President Muhammadu Buhari, Tolu Ogunlesi also shared the news on Twitter.

He tweeted, 
President Buhari has approved the reduction in the cost of Forms for JAMB UTME, NECO SSCE and the Basic Education Certificate Examination. With effect from January 2019, the cost of JAMB UTME Form will drop from N5,000 to N3,500. NECO will drop from N11,350 to N9,850.
He said the Minister of Education, Prof Adamu Adamu announced the development at the Federal Executive Council meeting saying President Muhammadu Buhari directed the Ministry to look into the reduction following the improvement in revenues being remitted to the Treasury by the Education by the exam bodies.

The new prices for both examinations will take effect from January 2019.
