Latest news report has it that the three months old nationwide strike embarked by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has been called off today, 7th February, 2019. The leadership of the academic union have also been asked to resume work on Friday, 8th February.
National President of the union, Professor Biodun Ogunyemi, made this known to the public today, Thursday, 7th Feb., during a press briefing at the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) complex in Abuja.
The Academic Union took the decision after a meeting with representatives of the Federal Government led by the Minister of Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige.
ASUU began its nationwide strike in November 2018 and called it off on Thursday, 7th February, 2019.
