Galaxy S11 Plus to Use 5000mAh Battery Made by LG
Rumors and leaks about Samsung’s next flagship line, the Galaxy S11, are rife circulating in cyberspace. The latest is a leak related to large capacity batteries that will be embedded in the Galaxy S11 plus.
Citing Phone Arena, Samsung is reportedly going to embed a jumbo-sized battery, which has a capacity of 5000mAh on the Galaxy S11 +. Not only the large capacity, but rumour also revealed that the battery is produced by its rival company, LG.
The news came from a source who declined to be identified. According to the source, the battery that will be embedded in the Galaxy S11 + is produced by LG Chem, which is a subsidiary of LG which manufactures lithium-ion batteries.
“At present, LG Chem is mass-producing battery cells for upcoming Galaxy smartphones from its factory in Nanjing, China,” the source said.
He also said that Samsung was satisfied with the battery made by LG embedded in the Galaxy Note 10 series which was released last August. Therefore, Samsung again asked LG to supply batteries in the Galaxy S11 series.
If what the source says is true, this is the first time Samsung will use a battery made by LG in the Galaxy S line.
Based on previous rumors, the Galaxy S11 line is said to be present in three models, namely the Galaxy S11e, Galaxy S11 and Galaxy S11 +. All three are equipped with batteries with different capacities.
It is said that the Galaxy S11e will carry a 3730mAh battery, then the Galaxy S11 with a 4500mAh battery, and the Galaxy S11 + will carry a 5000mAh battery.
