Code Lagos Programme | Lagos State Government Wants To Teach One Million Students How To Code or Write a Program

If the answers to the above questions are yes, then this is an opportunity for you to learning programming or coding from the Lagos State Government.


The Lagos State Government through the Ministry of Education, in partnership with the Ministry of Science & Technology, plans to collaborate with private sectors, international agencies, and multinationals across the education and technology industries, to teach one (1) million Lagos State Students who primary reside in Lagos and are interested in programming or coding.

Code Lagos programme will kick start in April 2017 in 500 primary, secondary and tertiary institutions (private and public) across Lagos State, Nigeria as well as in public libraries.

According to Mr. Obefela Bank-Olemoh, Special Adviser to the Governor on Education Said:
Our goal for ‘Code Lagos’ program is to teach one million students in Lagos State the basic knowledge involved in computer coding system by 2019. This program will be available to our students from primary to tertiary education level.
He also Said:
We have clear objectives and we have thought through the model. Industry experts have critiqued it and pointed out gaps we may have overlooked. Now we are ready to roll-out our plans.
