See The List Of Device or Smartphones That Will Stop Using Whatsapp By The End of This Year (December 31st)
WhatsApp the most popular messaging services that is currently used by more than 95% of smartphone users in Nigeria. WhatsApp is ending its support to a number of devices from December 31. Check out the list of devices that will no longer run WhatsApp from 31st December 2016.
WhatsApp had earlier made mention that those devices or smartphones that will stop receiving update from them are important part of their story. However, the devices no more offer the kind of capabilities and they need to expand their application features in the future. Also Note that WhatsApp will not block users with old smartphones. But, users will not get upcoming features or update.
WhatsApp on its official blog said:
As we look ahead to our next seven years, we want to focus our efforts on the mobile platforms the vast majority of people use. So, by the end of 2016, we will be ending support for WhatsApp Messenger on the following mobile platformsWhatsApp also said:
This was a tough decision for us to make, but the right one in order to give people better ways to keep in touch with friends, family, and loved ones using WhatsApp.
So, those who are using older phones need to upgrade to a newer Android, iPhone or Windows Phone to continue using WhatsApp after December 31, 2016.
