How To Send Voice Messages on WhatsApp Using "OK Google"

Do you know you can now send voice messages on whatsapp using the "OK Google" feature in Android devices? I will show you how to do this right here, right now.


Google has added this new feature to its latest Android app to improve the Google assistant experience which allows you do some things in your phone by talking instead of typing or tapping your phone. It's similar to Microsoft's Cortana and Apple's Siri.

HOW TO SEND A MESSAGE ON WHATSAPP WITH GOOGLE ASSISTANT (OK GOOGLE
  • To send a message, launch Google assistant by long-pressing on your Android device home button. For iOS users, download Google assistant app here and say this command:
"OK Google, send a Whatsapp message to Taylor" 


(Taylor is an example, so you can use any other name available on your phone contacts list)
  • Then, send a voice message
  • Google will ask for the recipient (if you didn't specify any earlier) and starts recording.

To start sending a whatsapp message using voice, just say something like “OK Google, send a Whatsapp message to Taylor." From there, you'll be asked to dictate your message. But if you want to be more seamless about it all, you can also just say, "OK Google, send a Whatsapp message to Taylor: Want to go to the movies?” or whatever.

Interestingly, you can also use the Google Now voice-command feature within the Google app to send voice messages via WeChat, Telegram, and NextPlus. All you have to do is download the the latest versions of those messaging apps as well as the latest version of the Google app. Simples.

  • Sometimes, google misunderstand you and suggest another name different from what you said
  • Google prefers English names and words
  • It can be boring if you are not getting it right
