We all know very well that WhatsApp is the most used instant messaging application which has over 1 billion active users. However, Brian Acton, the co-founder of WhatsApp, owned by the social network giant Facebook since 2014, announces his departure from the company after eight years.


The most used instant messaging app, WhatsApp is a messaging platform that has grown and its numbers prove it and even more when they implement updates as important as the states, a feature that initially brought controversy, but it has been appreciated and accepted by many users.

However, Brian Acton, the co-founder of WhatsApp, owned by the social network giant Facebook since 2014, announces his departure from the company after eight years to start a “new chapter in his life” related to a non-profit organization.

As the co-founder of WhatsApp, owned by the social network giant Facebook, Brian Acton noted on his Facebook account, this is a very thoughtful decision but at the same time “very hard,” and said he was “proud” of what his team and he have achieved in “a few years”.

I feel very fortunate to have the flexibility to take on new risks and concentrate on what I am passionate about, so I have decided to focus on non-profit activities related to technology and communications, said the co-founder of WhatsApp, of course, Brian Acton. He also said that in the coming months he will be able to give more details about his project.

The co-founder of WhatsApp, which is actually owned by the social network giant Facebook, Brian Acton basically studied at Stanford University and founded in 2009 WhatsApp, the most used instant messaging app with the Ukrainian immigrant Juan Koum. Both worked on Yahoo before starting on the messaging application project.

Later, in 2014, the most used instant messaging app WhatsApp was bought by the social network giant Facebook for 19,000 million dollars and it currently has over 1 billion active users.
