The latest to appear is the Finnish company Nokia’s ReefShark chips to deploy 5G on mobile antennas. The Finnish company, of course, Nokia currently works with 10 operators in India, including Aircel as we already knew a few days ago.
The Finnish company Nokia has just introduced its new ReefShark chips that go up one level in their manufacturing process to drastically reduce their size, cost and power consumption of network operators. In addition, they have prepared for the growing requirements of 5G technology and the excessive increase in mobile data expected in the coming years.

The Finnish company Nokia’s new chips integrate artificial intelligence and will be key in the deployment of the 5G to be ready to be installed at base stations. From the Finnish company, Nokia they explain that they have reduced the size of the current MIMO antennas and the electric current consumption by 64% with respect to the units currently used.
The chips are compatible with Nokia AirScale that can be upgraded to take advantage of the full potential of 5G. In the last tests carried out, they have achieved a speed of 84 Gbps per module, well above the current 28 Gbps that are already considered a record. In addition, the combination of several modules will allow 6 Tbps, which is basic for the growing demand for mobile data.

Among them, monitoring the connection in real time, optimization or the ability to apply techniques such as “network slicing” to be able to offer the highest levels of performance.
